Workshop

Workshop

This section contains a few snippets of a practical nature which may be of interest. Click on the button to learn a little more about some of the more interesting and unusual work we are asked to do in the workshop. We aim to show some of the problems we have encountered and how we have overcome them. In addition, there are some pages of an instructional nature. Hopefully, you will learn something about how we operate and maybe pick up a few hints and tips along the way.
It is our intention to expand this section of the website as and when time permits. If you have a particular interest in an aspect of magneto or dynamo repair and think that it may be worthwhile writing it up, please let us know. No promises, but we will certainly consider it!

This section, showing the PRACTICAL side of the business, complements the THEORETICAL side which can be found in the Technical section.
The work shown in this section gives an indication of what can be done. Not many repairers are willing to take on this type of work. Yes, we could just stick to the common, everyday magnetos and dynamos where replacement parts are readily available - but that would be boring! We do like a challenge! If you have a challenge for us, we would like to hear from you but please be aware that these types of job take time and that has to be reflected in the charges we make!

Please note: We are NOT able to provide 'engineering' facilities as a stand alone service. We are only prepared to do the type of work illustrated here as part of a complete overhaul.

We have been asked about why we are revealing 'trade secrets' on these pages. Our view is that there are no secrets - only knowledge and we have no qualms about sharing that with anyone interested!
